Peter Phofu Tsiane, who goes by the alias Peter Papers, is a freelance film and image maker from Virginia and Bloemfontein, Free State, currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
A film and television graduate who is passionate about the film industry as a whole, from director of photography to directing, and is always willing to learn new tricks of the trade to further his skills and adapt to the ever-changing environment of the industry.
Within his art medium (photography and videography), the artist produces artworks that challenge social issues such as patriarchy, general-based violence, European beauty standards, masculinity, and body-positive standards. With high use of colour for a more emotive style and attention to detail in terms of technical use of space, framing, and using shapes.
The artist believes his talents and creative ability are God-given. With his blind aunt serving as his motivation, he uses visual art to tell stories that are often untold and perceives life from a different perspective or with a different colour grade, always seeing the colourful or bright side of every situation he faces in his daily life.
